ABOUT ARNAUD

Arnaud du Jardin is a Swiss-based photographer working worldwide with a passion for creative food photography.

Although he always had been interested in art and design, his career in photography started while living in Mexico City. In collaboration with a friend, he started a fashion and lifestyle magazine. As part of this venture he did everything from interviewing local celebrities, stylists and models to writing articles and, of course, photography. He began simply by assisting for portrait shoots, but he was soon hooked. And, when Mexico’s Fashion Week came about, he jumped on the opportunity to photograph the entire event for the magazine. What started out by a chance opportunity turned into his life’s pursuit. 

Arnaud has collected inspiration and formed his own photographic perspective through his experiences living and traveling in different parts of the world. While living in Istanbul, he worked with a talented Turkish fashion photographer who broadened his technical capabilities and helped him expand his own sense of the art. But, it was after a photo shoot in Brussels that he decided to specialize in food photography because it combined his two main passions – photography and culinary arts. Today he is driven by the prospect of capturing the perfect mouthwatering image that evokes the unique tastes, smells and textures of an epicurean specialty.

Along with his eye for detail, Arnaud wants to make sure that his photos reveal the truth of the subject. Thus, he takes the time to understand the story behind the image. This almost always starts with the human story and relationship with his clients. For him, each assignment is a happy encounter for creative travel, an exploration of a mutual passion for food, and a journey of human stories.
